How Can I Write A Great Dating Profile?

Writing a great dating profile, for websites such as this one, can be tricky!
It can be difficult to describe yourself in a way that will draw peoples’ attention, while still being completely honest!
Here are some tips that may help you when writing your profile:
- Complete your profile informatively and honestly
- Make sure that you answer all of the questions, even if you only write a few words for each. Your profile will be working hard for you – so equip it as well as you can!
- Make sure that you check your spelling and grammar – a carelessly-written profile will reflect very poorly on you.
- Emphasise your best characteristics – just make sure that they are characteristics that you do actually possess.
- It’s OK to share your passions, so others will know upfront the things which motivate you – if you’re on fire for God, then say so.
- You may have a sarcastic sense of humour, but this often doesn’t come across well in writing. Save the sarcasm for later on.
- Don’t pretend that you’re willing to fly halfway around the world for someone, unless you really are. If you’re only interested in dating people who live nearby, then make that clear from the start.
- It’s very important that you include a photo with your profile. You’ll receive so many more responses. Here are some tips for getting a great image:
- Buy a digital camera – it’s more versatile and cheaper in the long run.
- Smile! You’ll look so much nicer.
- Take heaps of photos and choose the very best one for your profile.
- Ensure that it is bright and clear, but a low file size.
You don’t have to look like a movie star; you just need the photo to be a good likeness which makes you look friendly and approachable. It’s a good idea to ask a close friend or family member for their opinion on which photo to choose .
It’s important to take your time when preparing your profile. It’s not something that should be rushed when you have a spare five minutes during your coffee break. Think through the questions carefully. It helps to have a friend who you trust who can read your profile before you submit it. Does it sound like you? Do you sound friendly and interesting and approachable?
Make sure that when people do respond to your profile, that you reply to their messages as soon as possible. You need to give them the courtesy they deserve for taking the time to contact you.

Thanks for the advice. I think my profile could do with a little work. :)
